We are third generation family farmers based out of Oxford, North Canterbury. We operate all year round contracting in the Waimakiriri area.
The Mehrtens family history tells the story that we are a third generation farming family with its roots based in Oxford. Kevin and Jeanette Mehrtens run a diverse farming operation which has grown to be complemented by contract baling. From starting as an owner-operated business in 1981, with only one round baler, Mehrtens Ag has gradually increased its services, equipment and team year after year.
Steve Macaulay was employed by Kevin Mehrtens in the late 90′s during Steve’s schooling years. Steve grew into his role as the operations manager while Kevin took the reins of the workshop. The business grew and on farm demands intensified with the help of irrigation. In 2017 Steve bought out his remaining share of Mehrtens Ag and changed the business name to Oxford Agricultural Services. Steve is in the process of building a new home for Oxford Ag on Harewood Road.
